EHA is dedicated to building the Miners Memorial and Miners Memorial Park for the men who lost their lives in the Federal No.3 Mine. My grandfather lost his life in a coal mining accident in the Arkwright No.1 Mine on May 13, !965. It was a terrible lost to my whole family. That is one of the reasons I’m so dedicated. The other is as follows: Most of all, I know where my grandfather is resting. I can go and visit his grave site any time. Some of Miners of the Federal No.3 are laying in unmarked graves. I hate to think about this but, it is very possible some of the men could not be identified due to the horrendous explosion on April 30, 1927. Please help to build the “MEMORIAL” for these forgotten miners. |

The Miner’s Belt Buckle was designed to pay tribute to all of the “Coal Miners” because they have and still keep the lights on for us. All the proceeds from the belt buckle; which is a bust of a real coal miner who has spent 36 years in the WV Coal Mines; my brother Harold McCauley. This buckle doesn’t represent any particular mine. However, right now we are building the Miners Memorial for the Federal Mine No.3 and that is where the proceeds for the buckle will go now. After the Memorial is built we will start on the Miners Memorial Park. That is the Plan. To purchase a buckle for $35.00 that includes S & H. email: Carol Thorn at cthorn1954@comcast.net or call 304.983.2562 |
